The TCB Band consists of four superb musicians who acquired their name through working for Elvis Presley. Elvis' motto was 'TCB” - Taking Care of Business in a flash. These three letters were arranged around a lightening bolt, and the logo was used on everything from stationary to Elvis' private jet, the Lisa Marie. When Elvis returned to live performances in 1968, he had with him over the years a core of musicians who made up the rhythm section of the orchestra. James Burton, Jerry Scheff, Glen D Hardin and Ronnie Tutt later became known as The TCB Band.
Joe Esposito Joe Esposito was born in 1938. He first met singer Elvis Presley while they both were in the military in 1958. They both went through basic training at Fort Hood, Texas, but they didn't meet face to face until a year later when they were stationed in West Germany, where they became fast friends. Esposito became Elvis's road manager and bodyguard beginning in 1960 and helped Elvis's aide Marty Lacker with the bookkeeping. Esposito also played the guitar for Elvis's recording sessions from 1971 onward. After Elvis's death in 1977, Esposito started his own business.
Dennis Jale Music was the first love and companion for the 12 year old boy. Today Dennis Jale, the marked Austrian Rock voice, is the man with the inimitable acoustic colour and the force to delight his audience with any musical genre. What started softly in a bedsit reaps today hurricanes of applause on international stages. Be it a gig with his band 'The Jam Gang” which he established 1998 together with his best friend Goran Mikulec be it cooperations with other well known artists as Gary Lux or Michael Seida or the TCB Band - the charisme of Dennis Jale wins over.
Glen D. Hardin Glen D Hardin was born in Collingsworth County, Texas. His musical career then really took off in 1962 when he became a member of The Crickets, previously Buddy Holly's band. He joined the TCB Band in 1970 through to 1976 and as well as playing piano for Elvis, both in recording sessions and live performances, Glen arranged music for him and was a key member of the group. Glen received a gold record for arranging the music on Elvis's hit, The Wonder of You.
James Burton James was born in Minden, Louisiana and moved to Shreveport with his family when he was ten years old. He has been playing the guitar since the age of thirteen and is self-taught. Elvis Presley approached James and asked him to play on the famous 68 Special show, but James was working with Frank Sinatra at the time and had to decline. Elvis contacted James again in 1969 to tell him that he was returning to live performances and asked James to form a band to support him. That was when The TCB Band was formed. James continued to work with Elvis until 1977 and beyond.
Jerry Scheff Bass player Jerry Scheff is a native of San Francisco and originally got his start playing in jazz clubs in the Bay Area at the age of 15. Following a three-year stint as a musician in the u.S. Navy. About this time, he became a member of Elvis Presley's touring band and can be seen performing in the documentary films Elvis: That's The Way it is (1970) and Elvis On Tour (1972) as well as the first ever show broadcast via satellite, Aloha From Hawaii (1973). Though he openly admits to not being an Elvis fan prior to meeting 'the King,” Presley's artistry won him over and he continued to work with Elvis until his death in 1977. Following the success of the first ever Elvis - The Concert show in August 1997.
Ronnie Tutt Born in Dallas, Texas, Ron started tap dancing along with singing at the age of three. He studied tap for eight years and was considered a 'child prodigy” by many. After working in the studios of Dallas and Memphis, Ron moved to Los Angeles in 1969 following his first appearance with Elvis Presley's 'comeback” performances at the international Hotel, which was later to become the Las Vegas Hilton. The first hit Ron played on was the first 'live” version recorded on stage of Suspicious Minds.
Paul Leim For most musicians, there is a distinct separation between various segments of the entertainment industry. Few musicians have so successfully bridged the gap between records, motion pictures, live performances and television. Paul has performed for a seemingly endless list of top artists, composers and producers. Paul is an eight time Academy of Country Music drummer of the year nominee, multiple award winner of the Nashville Music Award, drummer/percussionist and Nashville Music Row Magazine's Top Ten Music All Stars Award winner.
